Media is the seat of Delaware County, and it wears it well. The courthouse anchors a downtown of government offices, law practices, and the professional buildings that cluster around any county seat, while State Street itself, with the old trolley running right down the middle of it, has become one of the best small-town main streets in the region, packed with independent restaurants and shops.
It’s a dense, historic borough, mostly brick Victorians and Foursquares in the walkable core, with mid-century homes and newer infill toward the edges and larger old estates scattered around. For an electrician, that mix means everything from a panel upgrade in a 130-year-old rowhome to keeping a downtown commercial building lit and running, and after 25 years around here, neither is new to us.
