Backup power, sized to what you actually need
A generator is only useful if it’s sized correctly, wired correctly, and ready to run when you need it. We handle the full installation: load calculation, equipment selection, transfer switch, gas line coordination, electrical tie-in, permits, and inspection. When the work is done, the generator runs on its weekly self-test and you don’t have to think about it again until the lights flicker and it takes over.
For homeowners, that usually means a standby unit large enough to keep the essentials running, or whole-house coverage if you’ve got a well, a sump pump, medical equipment, or a home office that can’t go down. For commercial clients, the range is wider. We’ve installed generators for offices, retail, and industrial sites, including a 250 KW unit on a commercial property in Media that keeps the whole operation running through extended outages.
We work on Generac, Kohler, and GE units regularly, and we’re comfortable on most other major brands. If you’ve got a preference we’ll work with it; if you don’t, we’ll talk through what makes sense for your site, your fuel supply, and your budget.
The work we do on the generator side includes:
- Residential standby generator installation, air-cooled and liquid-cooled
- Whole-house and partial-house coverage, with load calculation to match
- Commercial generator installation, including large-capacity units
- Automatic transfer switch installation and integration
- Coordination with the gas company, plumber, or propane supplier on fuel supply
- Service and tie-in for generators supplied by another contractor
- Permit pulling and inspection coordination
If you’ve already got a generator and need it wired in, or you’re starting from scratch and want someone to walk the property and tell you honestly what size unit makes sense, give us a call. The best way to get an accurate price is to see the site.
